Qin looked down onto the floor with what seemed to be embarrassment of his past. I took a couple steps away from Qin as Kao took a couple steps forward. He could be one too, I thought to myself. I had to protect myself. At that instant, a semi transparent shield seemed to form before my eyes. I touched the shield with curiosity, so did Kao. The effects on us were very different. The moment Kao laid a finger on the shield; he was shocked by a strong electric current whereas I just felt a tingle coursing through me.
“You found your power.” Qin said as he helped Kao up. Kao seemed a little bruised up from the incident. As I let my guard down, the shield shimmered and slowly faded away. I rushed over to Kao and gently placed my hand on his heart. A tingling sensation ran across my hand as a soft light was seen on the place my palm touched his body. I closed my eyes as to concentrate as I started to heal Kao. When I opened my eyes, Kao was already looking better but still a little worn out from the shock before.
“Let’s get him to some place to rest.” I said as we supported Kao and slowly made out way to the village which was hidden in the centre of the forest. I stifled my laugh as I thought about how cliché this was. A village hidden in the centre of the forest could go by unnoticed for such a long period of time. Qin shot me a look and I quickly recomposed myself. The villager’s stares pierced through me as we walked through them with Kao walking limply supported by us.
“Keisha,” he managed to cough out as we gently laid him onto the bed. “You have been gifted with the power of lightning. There’ll be more to come than just a protective shield,” was all he managed to say to me before he passed out. Qin led me out of the room and gently shut the door behind him. I was then brought into another room; it was much smaller than the previous one. Qin sat down on the floor and motioned me to do the same. I slowly lowered myself down and I found my head spinning once again.

chapter 20++

“Were you using me as bait or something? Damn it, that thing could’ve really gotten me.” I shouted, but barely loud enough to qualify it as a shouting. My lungs hurt, ramping into my ribs, trying to get in more oxygen.
“Lucas said to keep you alive, he didn’t mention anything about state of your condition,” Jaden continued to kid with me.
If he ever gave me a chance to get back at him, I’ll make sure it’ll be tenfold. He checked the corpse of what was the werewolf that attacked him. He was a middle age guy, can’t be older than my dad, bold, and scarred.
The moonlight just beam half of his face, I couldn’t get a better description than that. Jaden checked the wound, making sure he won’t regenerate from that kind of stabbing.
I kept breathing hard, sweating, and trying to see clearly. He seem pretty dead to me.
“Who is it?” I asked curiously.
“Ian. He didn’t drink the tonic in time. Sigh.” Jaden was still on his knee.
I backed out of the scene. Trying to avoid and hole or pieces of wood resulted from the fight just now. The moonlight didn’t help much, it was really hard to see anything.
I leaned back on a wall, trying to rest my legs. My head knocked the wall gently, took a deep breath, and shut my eyes. All I need right now is just a few minutes of piece before I got to go running around again like a living bait. God knows what the hell Jaden’s gonna make me do next.
It was peaceful for a moment, nothing but the calm and quiet room. I didn’t know what Jaden was doing, but whatever it was, he sure is keeping it quiet.

(add)

Something grab me by the shoulder, took me off guard.

(add)

“Shit Lucas, you scared the hell out of me. I thought it was Jaden,” Lucas startled me. I heard Jaden giggled from across the room. He probably knew Lucas was here before I did. The moonlight beamed over Lucas face, it shine perfectly on him. His eyes gleamed (add)

“What happened here?” he asked, still trying to see the full picture of the room. He then disappeared into the darkness of the room. I wanted to follow him, but my legs were too lazy to even stand up.
“Is that Ian? What happened to him?” Lucas voiced from wherever he was. “The same thing that’s going to happened to me if I don’t get the tonic.” Jaden murmured.

(add)

“Luke? What the hell happen here? Where’s Ian?” someone shouted. It was a girl. And assuming from how loud the voice was, she was not far from where I was.
“Hannah?” I heard Jaden murmured again.
“Yeah. She wanted to follow.” Lucas murmured back before shouting, “Come here and you’ll see it for yourself.”
“I’m here already.” The female voices replied a tenth of a second after Lucas. “What’s that smell? Jaden, you didn’t kill again, did you?” she continued.
Kill again? Jaden kills? I hope she meant by him killing werewolf and not humans before. I never dreamt of the idea of both of them killing humans.
“Oh my god. You killed Ian? What were you thinking?”
“Ian didn’t drink the tonic. Jaden didn’t have much of a choice.” Lucas explained.
“Shit, what are we gonna tell the others?”

(add)

Lucas cradled me on his back before leaving the building. Jaden burst the window where the moon wasn’t reflecting its light, living a huge gap on the wall. He then, along with the other girl jumped off the building without a moment of hesitation.
Lucas then turned to me, “Close your eyes if you’re afraid of heights.” He turned back towards the open gap and made a jump.
I remembered how many floors I took coming on that building, 7. He landed on his feet, without falling over his knees and acted like it was a walk in the park. He landed after a 7 storey jump without breaking his leg or even saying a simple ‘Ouch’.
By the time we landed, Jaden had already left. There was someone alredy in Lucas’ car, checking herself in the rear mirror. She had (give any characteristics and appealing features.)

chapter 20+

There were many cars filling the entire parking space near the house. The limo driver off the black limousine nodded to me with a smile as I walk through the gate. There weren’t any sound coming from the house. It was so quiet, so serene. Just the chirping of birds can be heard. Moving silhouettes could be seen through the translucent curtains.
There seem to be a gathering of some sort in there. There was tens, maybe close to twenties people in there. But they weren’t moving. Just standing still.
I knocked the door twice, hoping not to interrupt anything that’s going on inside there. A few quiet moments pass by before someone answered the door. It was Jaden open it in shock to see me.
Behind him was another girl, taller than me, in dark leather jacket staring at me. Her eyes were staring deadly on me. Like she was about to strike at me if Jaden wasn’t in the way.
Then there were more faces coming to see me. They were horrified seeing me. Shocked. Astonished. Stunned. I was even more scared seeing them looking at me as so. Jaden turn to his back before shutting the door.
“Who were those people?” I asked, still scared of them.
“People who annoys me. They’re here about Frankie.” He walked towards the garage. Another limo driver nodded at us with a smile before continuing back to his paper.
“But she’s not one of us. She mustn’t know our secret.” A loud shout came from the house. It was like an old man with an English accent.
“She’s no harm to us. She already helped me and Jaden against Frankie.” I heard Lucas protesting back.
“She knows about us then? Then she shouldn’t be allowed to live after seeing our faces. Our lives and reputation are on the line.” Another voice with an English accent fought back.
“You’re the idiots who showed your face to her. Anyhow, she won’t squeal on you all and I can guarantee it.”
“Your word can’t guarantee anything. She holds no tie nor favours to us. She doesn’t have any reason to keep this secret.”
“She also holds no grudge against any of us. She finds our kind to be amazing. I’ll take responsibility of any of her action regarding us.”
“Why are you so fond of her? Willing to hold responsible for her actions without doubt nor fear?”
There was a sudden silence for a moment before Jaden turn on his bike. It roared loud, vacuuming any further noise coming from the house. He then took it out of the garage before turning to me. Tossing a helmet towards me, he wore his as he rolled his eyes in annoyance from the voices from the house.
“Come on, follow me. They’ll be here all night long thanks to you. They scented you the moment you pass the gates.”
I nodded and got on behind him. I started to remember back these feelings. Hugging Jaden closely with my head on his back. He then rode all the way hastily. It was just like with Drake. Being scared on the bike, but feel protected with him around. Like I trust him not to fall or crash.
Jaden was just warm as Lucas. His back was radiating heat into my body. It was like he was scorching himself from the cold breeze.
He speeded down the nearly-empty road, hitting every red light, avoiding any cars in his way swiftly. It was all a blur, what street we passed, what shops were open.
A few familiar faces were in sight for a tenth-of a second but I couldn’t get a second glance to be sure. The cool breeze blew into my eyes.
The bike slowed down before stopping in front of an empty building, it had no sign of being used for decades. The doors seem locked. And there wasn’t any light coming from inside.
The building seemed uninhabited.
(add)

The entire floor was dark and empty.

(add)

The door had a sign, ‘Ian Mckenroe. Private Investigator.’
A P.I.? Why are we looking for a P.I? Jaden kept sniffing since we came on this floor, his nose was on something.

(add)

“Jaden, why are we looking for a P.I.?” I confronted him before he continued sniffing the room. His eyes were on me, but he didn’t seem bothered, he turn away from me before answering back.
“Ian isn’t just a P.I. He’s a family friend. Someone they all can rely on.” They, he meant the others that were at his house.

(add)

The havoc here really didn’t leave any trails behind. No blood, no broken items, just scattered pieces of papers, along with some kind of liquid spilled on the floor behind the desk. It wasn’t thick like blood, but it was blue dark-ish.

“Why did you take me here?”
“I didn’t need to be a mind reader to know what Lucas wanted me to do.”
“Lucas?”
“He knew there would be a lot of tension if you waited for him, let alone him leaving the rendezvous for you. So I just thought of bringing you along.”

We left the office…
(add)

Like before, the floor was totally empty, there wasn’t any furniture. What was Jaden looking for?
He kept touching the walls of the empty. Scenting on something that’s apparently unscented to the naked nose, or did that just sounded wrong. He kept disappearing into the dark part of the room most of the time.
(add)

“Jaden, come on, let’s get out of here, there’s no one here, we’re all alone.”
He turned to me, raised his eyebrows, “What makes you think we’re all alone?”

I thought of that more of a sarcasm. I gave him a certain ha-ha-whatever look before I sensed something behind me. I didn’t know what it was. But my instinct said it’s not something pretty.
I slowly turned. The sheer intensity of vibes coming from whatever was behind me stunned me to my very core. It was pitch black. Everything, except a pair of bloodshot red eyes, gawking at me.
Somehow I knew this is how a prey feels within the grasp of a predator. Unable to move even given a default. Its eyes showed how much its desire to rip me apart. It’s drooling showed how much its desire to taste my flesh. And everything seems to be lines from the little red riding hood.
The wide open eyes started getting closer. I yet, still am not moving. My legs are like nailed to the ground. Seems fear has even shocked my limbs. And this time, I’m not a bit attracted to it. It’s more like I’m stuck.
A nose came out of the darkness along with the long, sharp teeth. I then managed to slowly back out of the hall, back into the only room with windows. I wanted to shout out for Jaden, but only to fear that that thing would kill me before I could get a word out of my mouth.
Slowly, the torso release itself from the dark side. But it almost seem like he was cut in half, because the bottom part of the body couldn’t be seen. Yet he was moving forward even faster.
(add)

Jaden ramp him back into dark abyss below. Its cry tears my ears. The loud growl ended with a loud thump. I couldn’t make out what was going on down there. The loud noises suddenly came to a silence. There weren’t even any movement. The pitch black concealed their fight.
Jaden was then thrown through the hole up to the floor above me. The other werewolf then jumped towards him. Not giving Jaden a moment to breath. Before I could make out what was going on, they burst through the floor above me.
I couldn’t grasp their agility, their flexibility, their every motion, not just because of the dark background around the floor,

I tried avoiding meeting their path, somehow my interference would only end in my death, huh, how pathetic does that look? I had to do something to certain Jaden’s victory. Jaden feel heavily on the flight of stairs, bursting it into pieces.
Before I knew it, those bloody eyes were back on me. I tried leaning up against the wall. Trying to blend with the shadow of the room, but it didn’t do any good. Those cold eyes kept staring at me. The sheer anxiety crept onto me. I tried holding my nervousness to myself but it almost seemed impossible.
I slowly move to my left reaching for something I could use as a weapon of some sort. I reached to the furthest my hand was made possible. There was something cold. It had a flat surface. I tried bending lower to try to get a better picture of what it was.
It was a stool. Close to my leg height, but it was the only thing I have as a defence. I ran towards the window, grabbing the stool on my way, and hinged towards the werewolf’s direction.

(add)

I ran through the dark, unaware of where I was heading, before I saw a glimpse of light coming from the corner to my left. I could feel the wolf being within metres from me. Jaden was in front of me, flying through the air towards me. I barely ducked below and allow him to ramp into the other wolf.
I tried through the other door, but just as exited the room, the werewolf was already behind me. This time I will make me legs move. I ran through the hall, entering random rooms without a moment to look behind. He kept constantly banging in the wall whenever he tried to turn.
He was at high velocity, bashing through walls and ceiling, chasing me endlessly. Those superhuman strength and speed were seriously for real.
There was another stool within my reach that I grabbed before getting clawed on the back. I nearly cried in pain but my arms were already swinging the stool towards him, bashing into his head. The stool bended unevenly but the werewolf was upside down near the window.
My back was bleeding, soaking a portion of my back with blood. Surprisingly, I was still able to move normally. I thought u hit from a werewolf could really damage you.

(add)

I noticed there was something moving near the walls. (Jaden)

Those blue eyes blinked at me. “Jaden, Jaden, what are you doing?” I whispered as asoftly as I could. He wasn’t answering. He just slowly back into the shadow. Even his eyes were lost. I’m pretty sure that was him. I mean, there are only two werewolves in this building, and the other one has red eyes.
(add)

I felt like a sitting duck, standing alone in the light. I didn’t dare enter the dark part of the room again.
Out of the furthest room on the floor, the tall, dark and enraged werewolf came out. He saw me standing here, helpless. Well maybe not helpless, I was expecting Jaden to come out right now and burst him through another wall.
But he wasn’t doing so. He didn’t do anything, he was still invisible in the shadows. The werewolf began his run. He seemed like an unstoppable train, unable to change course from the track. My heart beat to its max.
“JADEN!!!!” I shouted out loud as it enters the room I was in. He got to me within inches before Jaden reveals himself from the darkness and burst him through the wall. The loud crush screamed into my ears along with a few splinters. The hole was twice the size of me.
I couldn’t make out from the clash,

chapter 10

As expected, many showed up at the party. There were both familiar faces and unfamiliar faces helping themselves to the food, dancing to the music and having their own 7 minutes in heaven. The band was boisterous. The room was full. It was perfect. I could just ease up and forget about everything as I enter the room. It was a stress-free situation.
I caught up with Jesse and the others near the dance floor. My body move by itself following the flow of the music. Crowded the floor may be, it didn’t stop us from dancing. My hair got tangled a few times. A small group of shufflers rallying up near the middle of the crowd doing what they always do.
It felt like a somewhat of ecstasy rushing through my veins. We all cheered screamingly as the band just finish one song. A few songs got by as we all just cavorting to the beat. Stephanie and Riley made several attempts to ask my condition. I’m guessing someone told them about the break up. I just changed the topic every time it came up. Slowly, their voices were snatched away by the loud music.
I was having too much fun to let it bother me.
I felt my head spinning, my lungs gasping for air, my legs tired from all the dancing. Lucas pulled me out of the crowd and crutched me to the kitchen. I couldn’t hear anything else other than the music played.
He offered a glass of punch as he laid me near the porch facing the garden. The sky was so clear. I felt exhausted than anything I’ve done in awhile.
“Feeling any better?” Lucas asked. His eyes were dead on mine. But it wasn’t intimidating; it was more like seeking something. Something within me. His blue angel eyes were more beautiful than any diamonds.
“Yeah, thanks.” I said back, still pondering into his eyes.
I couldn’t think of anything to say. We just grew closer to each other. A familiar feeling came over me. Something I didn’t felt for awhile. My lips parted, opening a small unseen gap in between. My hands were already on his lap without me releasing it. What was wrong with me? He body urge me to continue foward. But my mind is resisting. I felt my heart beat faster than before. We were within inches from each other, when…
“Sam, are you out here?” Steph called out for me. She stood there near the entrance of the porch. “Ooo… Hey Lucas, you alright Sam?” she was surprised seeing how close we were.
I jerked back, placed both my hands back on the chair and looked at Steph with a bit of surprise on my face. Lucas turns swiftly towards her without moving his body. He smiled back and turns to me.
Was i that desperate till I need to be with someone just hours after i broke up? Was I so insecure of being alone? I felt guilty already using Lucas earlier to get back at Drake. But now? Am I still abusing our friendship, using him as a rebound? I couldn’t help feel even more guilty than sad. I only knew him not more than a month and he has always been there for me.
“Hey, yeah I’m good.” I said calmly, before grabbing the cup of punch and taking a sip. “Alright, me and Gabby are in the hall if you need us.” She smiled at Lucas before leaving us. As Lucas turned his back towards her, she quietly made a (growled, etc, something).
Chuckling at myself, I threw my hand at her, indicating her to leave immediately before I faced Lucas. He just giggled back. He looked at the sky, grinning, the breeze played with his hair, blowing it the back as it tease with mine across my face. His eyes reflected the light from the moon, shining bright as if seeing a mini moon.
“Beautiful, isn’t it?” Lucas asked spontaneously, still gazing at the moon without blinking or twitching. He seemed so serene. Something I need to feel after everything that’s happening now. “Yeah it is,” I answered back while my mind was still occupied with the events that happened recently.
I still couldn’t comprehend the fact of Drake doing that to me. He was sweet and had always had my back. Guess things change after he entered college. My eyes were dry. I was always good at hiding my feelings, especially tears.
“How are you doing?”
“I’m alright, my head is slightly better I guess,”
“I’m not talking about that, I meant about happen this afternoon,”
“Ooo… Yeah I’m alright.”
“You sure?” He asked, eyeing me closely.
I started blinking back tears, it was so nice to have someone actually care for a change.
“I just don’t know”
He tilted his head to the side as if anticipating another sentence or even just another word.
“I loved him and…”
Tears started flowing down my eyes. I brushed them away quickly and threw my gaze away from his face as if that would hide my sadness.
He held my hands, his palm soft against mine and as I felt his grasp against mine, telling me that he understood, steadying me everything suddenly looked better and I felt okay if not happy.

“Come on, we wouldn’t want you to miss the party you created now, would we?” he lead back into the house, he wasn’t dragging me, but merely making me walk back into the twilight zone.
I couldn’t help smiling as I enter the room. Everyone’s face filled with excitement and laughter. It wasn’t wild, but wasn’t dull either. Cried of exhilaration filled the air. The band stop playing already, but the crowd were still moving along the dancefloor.
He held me in the centre of the room and just move along the music. I followed along without hesitation.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Riley finally came outside, bringing a bottle of absolute vodka as he landed on the back of Tristan’s car.

(add something here)

“Damn I’m still hungry,” Riley moaned.
“No surprise there,” Steph murmured as she rolled her eyes over
“Can we get out of here and get something to eat?” Riley continued.
“Kat’s?” Tristan asked everyone, but turn facing Jenny.
She just nodded smiling. The rest agreed to it. My head felt a bit dizzy and sleepy. I tried keeping my eyes open but Lucas shoulder was warm and soft, I couldn’t help myself but shut my eyes a few times.
“Sam, dear? You’re tired aren’t you?” Steph asked me as she approached me.
“Nah… I’m just a bit exhausted from all the dancing. A few cups of latte should do the thing” I tried to make myself look convincing. But it seem to fail, the rest stared at me, knowing how I actually felt, knowing what I’ve been through today.
“A few hours of shut eyes is what you mean. You already work hard in making the party, let alone cleaning it up. You owe it to your body.” Lucas looked at me.

chapter 6

The house was still clean and organized. Good. The boys haven’t made a mess yet. The T.V. was off. The kitchen was spotless. The place was spotless. I entered the kitchen to get something to drink. Lucas followed behind me, arousing the place and complementing the art work hang near the hall. “My dad loves them. He’s always out on business trips etc so he usually just buys whatever he finds intriguing.”
He sat next to the counter, staring at the pictures on the fridge with bedazzled frames. I sat opposite of him, handing him a can coke.

(add something here)

“Hey come on, best out fives this time,” someone groan.
“No way, I beat you 3 times already,” another voice continued with a tad of laughter. Their voices grew closer before I heard someone descending down the stairs.
Two boys, both nearly my height, entered the kitchen before stopping after seeing us. One had dark black hair covering his entire forehead, another was slightly taller, with blonde curly hair. His face was fill with pimples though he seem younger to have gone through puberty.
“Hey Sam, Mom’s coming home late, she said. Told you to order pizza for dinner,” said the black hair kid. His face nearly resembles mine but have his head is covered by his hair.
“Okie dokie, anyway, what were you two bragging about?”
“Kym lost to three times in ‘DotA’. So he has to act as the female character for the school play. Mr. Jason told us to choose among our self.”
“Yeah, yeah, the old goat couldn’t just tell us that who should’ve gotten that part, so we had to decide our self,” said the other boy.
“Dude, stop calling your teach an old goat,” I protested.
“Shut up, I’m 14, I can do anything I want,” Kym continued his menace.
I hitted his head back, “Kym, you’re an idiot!” I then fold both arms across my body as Lucas just laughed quietly behind the scene.
“Damn you, Sam. I’d be doing you right now if I weren’t younger than you,” Kym continued back to his perverted self.
“What the shit?! That’s my sister man,” Liam rebel back.
“That’s another reason I won’t do you.”
I just sighed. Lucas still continued laughing.
“And who are you?” Kym faced Lucas, who was like invisible to us the entire time.
“Dude, this is Lucas. He’s a new student at school,” I introduced him at both of them.
Liam kindly shook his hand, “Nice meeting you, man.”
Kym then just come in and “Yeah, nice meeting you. You need a condom? Sam keeps some in her drawer.” He laugh and his face turn red instantly.
“Dude, what the shit man?! Get out of here.” I shouted at him before he fleeted with that annoying laughter. Liam just walked behind.
I turned back to Lucas, only to find him still laughing, this time not so quiet.
“So. Not. True.” I said each word slowly and clearly just to make sure it entered his head. Each word comes with one step closer to him. Making sure he doesn’t get any images into his mind.
“I believe you. I believe you.” He still couldn’t stop laughing.
“Stop it, you’re becoming him now.”
“Alright, alright. I’ll stop. So anyway, the play?”

Battle

“Frankie,” Lucas pleasantly replied as he made a simple nod at him. “Good to see you too, what pleasure do you seek coming all the way here?”
“Ah… you do know me all to well I see. Well, if you must know, trade me that beautiful brunette and I’ll let you in on a secret” the blonde replied. He had a French accent but with excellent English pronunciation. His voiced repulsed me. His untied his cuffs and just walk toward us, each move elegant as the other.
“I’m sorry my dear cousin, how about this, let us in on this secret of yours, and we’ll let you go covertly,” Jaden closed the gap between both of them as Lucas stand firmly behind me, his hand across my neck.
“Go??” Frankie response, revolting. “And what is it that consumes my right to ‘go’?”
“The law I presume, other than our own rules, you belong in a prison if I remember correctly,” Lucas said back, still hanging his hand around me. Jaden cracked his knuckle loudly, intentionally.
“Me? In captivity? For what charges?” Frankie gasps and slowly took a few steps behind. He sounded so dramatic.
“Apart from murder, you mean?” Lucas smirked as his hand was as if ready to launch an attack.
“That’s still illegal then?” Frankie begins to move forward. Jaden wouldn’t let him out of his sight. His stench grew as each step his take.
“Yes” Lucas replied. His hand gripped my shoulder. Not painful, but strong and hard. “Plus, you’re a traitor and a stealer. That should be more than enough reason for me to tear your head off” he added. Jaden smirked to that addition. But was it just me, or were there fangs in those smirks? Did it grew in an instant? Though I wasn’t clear, I could have sworn I saw a pointed end on one of those teeth.
“Ouch, cousins, how could you do so to me, am I not ‘family’?” Frankie again sounded so dramatic.
“I never thought of you as family since we last met, Jaden even has a grudge on you and I don’t think he is in a forgiving mood,”(this needs work, change it if you have something better)
Jaden transform instantly without giving Frankie a moment to reply. He speared him right into the bush near the forest. A beam of light caught my eyes coming from above us. The sky was clear. The moon was full and bright. And I could hear Lucas attempting to growl to it. He just smirked, showing a glimpse of his bright teeth.
A moment of silent passed by before a loud howl cries through my ears. Just before Lucas wanted to enter the forest, Jaden was thrown to the street, and rolled over the rocky roads before launching straight at Frankie as he exited the forest.
Frankie was a monster beyond any werewolves. His dark fur covered his humongous body. The scary part of it was his tail, it was like iron. It broke the rocks it comes in contact with. Frankie uses it furiously on Jaden without mercy. Jaden avoided it swiftly before gnawing.
“Shit, he didn’t use the tonic,”
Lucas then released me from his grab before transforming into his so-call alter ego. He jumps so elegant towards Frankie, launching both his arm at him before attempting to bite off his back.
It then became clear to me that Frankie wasn’t himself anymore. This is indeed a monster. A monster lusting on blood and enraged by the moon. Something the twins choose to avoid by drinking the tonic. The strength of both of them couldn’t outwit Frankie’s. He growled violently into the night. The sky showed no mercy on the twins as no clouds were in sight. They made several attempts to stop him from moving, but Frankie was too agile, this agility was beyond words.
Frankie sprang, releasing his razor sharp nails at Lucas. He ducked the swipe before discharging both his leg onto his body, making the counter look like a moonsault.
Lucas then recoil behind me before turning back into a boy. His chest was broad and had a scar near the left side of his packs. The jeans were torn up to his knee. He reached for something inside the boot of the car.
Jaden clawed him before fleeting back. His body unable him to stand or make uppercuts. His best assault weapon was the long, piercing spikes on his back. Frankie sprang onto him, avoiding the spikes but motioning his arms on Jaden’s head. It was as if he wanted to knock him down, pounding him with those humungous arms, without mercy or hesitation.
Jaden couldn’t even howl in pain. What the hell was Lucas looking for? Can’t he see Jaden needs him now? He is pinned down before Frankie gave that up and tried clutching Jaden’s head. Surprisingly, he tried jumping to the back and Frankie got slam on the ground hard.
All Jaden could do then was rolled back onto the ground. Lucas brought a bottle of some kind of liquid on one hand and a sniper on the other. “You’re gonna shoot him?”
“Well, not really. You are. I’m gonna hold him so he can’t catch or avoid the shot, all you need to do is hit any part of his body.”
I just nodded intently, knowing how to do this. For me it was pretty easy. He gave a kiss of the fore head before tearing himself apart into a werewolf. He glided down, aiming for Frankie’s face. He sprang up, tossing Jaden towards Lucas before landing on both legs, but he wasn’t stable, one hand on his abdomen and another on the ground, as if he couldn’t stand straight anymore.
He was punctured by Jaden spikes. One near his belly and another close to his thigh. But Jaden wasn’t doing any better, he just received the beating of a lifetime. Lucas hasted towards Frankie without slowing down.

chpt 9

Leaning lazily on the car while waiting for Lucas to get out from the market – I glanced around at the new surrounding. It almost seemed peaceful. From the corner of my eye, I caught sight of a very familiar face. I turned and focused my sight on him. Drake!, I cried out in surprise. I was about to open my mouth to call his name when I saw a blonde girl walking up behind him and snuggling up against him. He didn’t do anything to protest but instead had draped his hand around the girl. He lifted her head and planted a kiss on her lips.
As my eyes started to blur up with tears, the situation became clearer and clearer. Wasn't he supposed to be visiting his aunt? I swallowed back my tears and started walking towards them. Drake looked up and saw me heading towards him and he froze in the middle of his track. He summoned a smile onto my face and plastered it there.
“Hi, fancy seeing you here Drake. Is this your aunt?" I smiled to her as confusion started to appear on her face. She did a great job of hiding her confusion as she shook my extended hands. As our grips loosened, the situation returned to its actual staleness. I stared at Drake, daring him to look up into my eyes. He wouldn't even dare lift his head up, let alone stare at me.
"Please Sam, don't do this." He said as he grabbed my arm and pulled me away. I looked back and threw the girl one last glance before following him silently.
"Don’t do what?" I flung his hands off my arms as soon as we were out of the girl's earshot. I spun around and stared into his eyes. Tears began to form despite my efforts to push them back down (don’t really get the feel). I never cried in front of anyone, I wasn’t going to start now. Despite my blurry vision, I could see Lucas walking out of the market searching for me. I walked further down into the motel, hoping that Drake would follow me.
“Sam, let me explain please.” My back was facing him. I could feel his arm slowly going around my waist, pulling me towards him. I stood erect and still. I wanted to just turn around and walk away from this mess. A minute ago, I wanted to beat him up into a pulp. I pulled myself free from him.
“Explain what? Fine, you want to explain? Explain!” I plopped down onto the worn out sofa in the hallway as I released myself from his embrace. Arms crossed in front of my chest, I tried to turn my focus onto something else. I couldn’t stare into his eyes. Those eyes that once made me drown in them were now suffocating me. Those lips that had once showered me with all the fake promises… I did not want to listen to the words that were spilling out of his mouth. I could only see his lips moving but my mind had blocked his voice out.
“Sam, what’s going on?” Lucas was standing right in front of the motel door. He frowned as he saw the expression on my face. He took a few steps forward but was stopped in the midst by Drake. Drake pushed Lucas aside with a growl. Lucas flung Drake’s hand off him and came beside me, kneeling down so that we were at eye level.
“Nothing, let’s just go okay?” I started to get up from the couch with Lucas supporting me, I slowly made my way past Drake, avoiding any chance that our body my come in contact. Drake’s hand shot out in front of me and stopped me. His eyes with so much regret that I actually wanted to just forgive him at that very moment. Then, I thought of the kiss, the embrace, the web of lies he had made up. A shot of adrenaline coursed through my body. I smirked. Lucas stared at me with curiosity as I turned to face him. Grabbing him by the back of his head, I gaze into his eyes and pulled his face closer till our lips met. I had let myself go and forgotten about Drake who was standing right beside us with his eyes wide open with disbelief.
“Forgive me?” I spun around and asked Drake. I heard him muttered something that sounded like bitch but I couldn’t care less. I dragged Lucas behind me and ran out of the motel towards the car. Lucas was still speechless after that my spontaneous action (it’s pretty tense, so I’d say the shorter the sentence the better). Still breathless, I went to the back of the car and took my change of clothes from the car and went into the nearest toilet available. Gazing into the mirror, my cheeks flushed with excitement. I gently placed my fingers on my lips. Had he felt it too? I wondered. I quickly splashed the cold tap water onto my face. We are just friends, whatever happened in the motel just now was just purely revenged, I reminded myself.

Chapter 2

Abraham Lincoln High. I couldn’t believe another semester has gone passed that fast. Cliché as it may seem, but last year seem just like yesterday. I could still remember the joyous time of drama and the in-joyous moments of biology and physics. My mind still couldn’t escape that day Riley used the dissected frogs to scare Jesse and I after bio period. Jesse’s scream was devastatingly loud it swallowed the school bell’s ring.

A gentle breeze blew over my hair till it got caught in my mouth. With a file and a few books on my left hand and a shoulder bag gripped to my right, I crossed the street towards the school. Almost every memory I had of school last term flew right back into me with every step I take. I couldn’t help but smile quietly at myself at a few I enjoyed. As I entered the school compound, a few familiar faces greeted me nicely. Damn, weird as it may seem to some people, I couldn’t wait to get back to class and start school.

“So apparently I have Literature, Chemistry, P.E., Social Studies and Algebra classes as same as yours.” Jesse said as she suddenly appeared out of nowhere and hooking her hand on my shoulder as we walked towards the hall. She wore jeans and a ‘Make Some Noise’ tee covered with a small jacket. Her head was covered with a Tropic Plaid that I bought for her birthday last month. “What about Biology and globalization?” I asked wondering if she did meant when she said about dropping it after last year incident.

“I dropped it, spoke to the headmistress herself and cleared it out with her, I know have free period and Art classes,” she said proudly.
“You actually dropped Bio?” I asked, sounded a bit shocked.
“ Mmhmm..” she replied. Biology class wasn’t my favourite class for a reason, and it wasn’t because of the subject. The class is always so quiet from time to time and somehow strangely uncomfortable. With Jesse around, I never felt alone; instead I could easily ignore the awkwardness and the deadly silent. Now with her gone, I wonder how I will ever survive it.
“Why did you drop globalization?”
“I didn’t. I meant Biology. Like hell I’m dropping the only class that helps me find hot guys from Europe.” We giggled at each other and found our self entering the hall. The stage to the left has provided me with the best memories of school. Over to our right was the Lincoln High students themselves. Each talking to one another with stories from their summer. Filled with voices, the hall seems lively. “Sam, Jess, over here,” I heard someone calling out for us. Before I managed to turn to see who it was, Jesse pulled me by the hand towards the direction of the voice. I saw a guy in a casual shirt with his cap backwards He had a nice fair ton skin which is quite similar to mine. Standing tall, he had a grinned on his face, waving his hand at us up high. “James, god I missed you a lot. How’ve u been?” Jess asked seemingly excited to see him. “I miss you too; I’ve been great, happy belated dear. Sorry I wasn’t at the bash,” he said back sounding so sincere. He had an Australian accent, southern I think. “How was Africa? Hope your mom is getting well,”

“She’s doing great, recovering nice and smooth. She said thanks for the necklace you got her.” Jess smiled to that. The headmistress came in with a few of her staff asking for us to remain calm and be seated. She was on the podium with the teachers seating in the background. With a welcome speech and reminders, she ended the assembly.

I followed Jesse to our first class of the day, Chemistry. We kept our bags and file in the locker and brought with us a couple of books. We walked in the lab only to find that the class had already started. Eyes were staring at us as we make our way towards to the empty table located behind of the class. Ms. Lee, our chem. teacher, continued the class explaining what to expect this year. Her introduction was simple and understanding. Before she managed to start today lessons, there was a knock on the door. It was then opened followed by someone entering the lab. I couldn’t catch his face but he was wearing a hoody that seems all too familiar. Hurm… Where did I saw that hoody? Before I could bother to think about it, he walked pass the teacher’s table towards the back. Jesse called me asking about what I want to do after school. “Walk around the mall maybe, you?” I asked back. “Maybe off to Alexandrose, Katrina is still working there, so me and Gabby thought of hanging out there, wanna come?” she asked as she pulled out a pen and started copying the notes wrote down on the board in front. I nodded and did the same thing.

“Hi, I’m Lucas, mind if I sit here?” a figure standing beside me asked. It was a sweet and angelic voice, smooth and perfectly clear. I turn towards him and found a charming face staring at me with a smile on his face. He had black hair covering his forehead up to his eye brows. I nodded slightly and replied with a simple hi. I smiled at him and introduce myself and Jesse at him. As I continued with the noting, my mind then remembers last night in the market. My little accident and the guy who caught me. The hoody, the fair skin, the exact face, it was indeed him who save me that night. But something seems different but I just couldn’t make it out. Before I could continue with my thoughts, he started a conversation that I continued throughout the whole class. Jesse too was a part of that conversation. As the time flew by, the bell rang.
“Okay class, make sure to bring your test pad next class. We’re going to do our first experiment of the semester. Those who forget to bring will have to stay behind and help clean up the class,” Ms. Lee announced before we exited the lab.

“What do I have next?” I whispered to myself quite low but Jess and Lucas both managed to catch it and both replied.
“Got Physics” Jess said followed by Lucas, “Oo Sh*t, left my timetable in my locker. Guess I’ll see you guys later.”
“What about you Sam?”
“Uhh… Got Biology and Globalization till lunch.”
“Cool, see you at lunch then, save me a seat, aite?”
Before I could answer that, she left me by the water fountain all alone. Well, not alone exactly, there were people, but I could hardly remember most of them, either juniors or people I wasn’t so close with during the past. Seeing how the lab was upstairs, I had to make my way towards the stairs located near the end of the building.
During my walk there, I managed to see a few familiar faces and was greeted with a smile or a simple ‘hi’. It felt kind of good seeing them. Arrived at the flight of stairs, I hastily made my way up and took a turn to reach the lab. Luckily, I managed entering the class right before the teacher did by a split second. Taking my seat near the back, I placed my books on the table and did a quick review of the class. Quiet as usual. The feeling of awkwardness was still there. Some of the students there could be said to be like robots. They were just dead frozen staring at the book in front of them. Some whispered to one another while a few took a couple of glance at me. Guess things like this won’t change for me yet this year.
Ms. Rita, our biology teacher, erased the scribbles on the board and did a quick introduction. She took a breath and started our lesson with no time to waste. As she explained, I jotted it down on my notebook without hesitation. There was a sudden knock on the door. I didn’t bother myself to see who it was as I kept continuing writing down whatever it is I could remember Ms. Rita said recently. The room was dead silent that I could hear her instructing whoever she was speaking with to be seated at the empty spot at the end of my table.

By the time I could see who it was, he was already seating. He laid he face on the table on top of both his folded arms. He wore a plain white t-shirt and jeans. He also had black hair with a bit of blue dye on the top. I notice there was a wire connected to something in his ears. The other end of that was inside his pocket. I moved my head slightly forward and turn to get a better view of him.
It was him. It was Lucas. But when did he change or get a blue dye, unless I didn’t notice it till just then. But I was sure he wasn’t wearing a white shirt. He wore something slightly darker in his hoody. Was this really him? He did have the exact face. His hair was also the same apart from the blue dye. But something seemed different. It was his expression. There wasn’t one. His face seemed totally plain compared to chemistry. He seemed livelier then than now. He eyes seem totally focus on the board.
I tried whispering to him a few times, but it seemed whatever he was listening to took total control of him. I dropped my book at the floor between my and him as another attempt but yet no success. I doubt he was focusing to whatever Ms. Rita was teaching but his seem to see nothing but the board where Ms. Rita is writing a few notes.
Was he ignoring me? Why would he? Did I do something in chem. until he doesn’t even bother to greet a simple ‘hi’? I tried ignoring all those meaningless question and concentrate on the Ms. Rita. He then got up of the table, took a pen and started writing down something. I wasn’t bothered by it and continue jotting down the notes.
I was too concentrated on the notes on the board (maybe a shorter form) that I seem oblivious from the other students. They weren’t glancing at me anymore. They were glancing at him. The two in front of him took a few quick glance a kept whispering right after each. Guess my wish did come true.
As soon as I finished jotting everything down, I rested my fingers and relax my wrist. The bell rang and Ms. Rita was already on her way out of class. So much for my first day at biology.
Exiting the lab, I walk through the corridor to get to my next class. The upper corridor seems quieter than the one downstairs. There were less people roaming the hall.
The bell rang. Finally. Gabby and I left the class and headed for the canteen. We kept talking about drama and the script our drama teacher showed her a moment ago. We made it to the canteen and took a tray by the counter. In search of Jesse and the rest, I saw Lucas exiting the canteen through the other entrance. He seemed the same as in bio class just now.
Gabby got sight of Jesse sitting in a group of people near the windows. There was Riley, Tristan, James, Grace and a few more I didn’t get a good look at. I took a seat right beside Jesse and facing Tristan. Riley, Grace and a few other students seem to be caught up in their conversation. Jesse smiled at me and asked “How’s Biology?”
I was about to answer when my eyes caught Lucas, seating on the other side of Jesse. He still wore the same hoody in chem. He then faced my and greeted. Didn’t he just left just now? I was even surprise by his face. He was smiling. He looked totally different then he was in bio. And wasn’t he was wearing a white shirt. I couldn’t get a peek at what he wore underneath that hoody of his.
I acted casual and said ‘hi’ at him before I answered Jesse question. Guess he went out to get his hoody and came back before I had a second look. We talked normally and I didn’t felt like he had anything against me. And I was sure I wasn’t going to ask about what happen in biology recently just to look paranoid. The scene of the canteen was the liveliest and loudest room I’ve entered, and loud in a good way and not someone shouting or screaming but the voice of people talking freely and not total silence like bio.
“You want to come with us to Alexandrose after school?” I invited Lucas as he took a bite off his sandwich. He chewed quickly and nodded.
“What’s Alexandrose by the way?”
“It’s a café in the city. My friend worked there and I thought of checking her up after awhile,”
“Cool.” He answered smiling and finished his food.
“You guys still on for rockclimbing this weekend?” I changed the topic of conversation with Tristan and Riley.
“Yeah, pick me up at 10, not earlier that that. I hate you seeing my sister so often.” Tristan said as he turned facing Riley with a ‘get it’ look.
“Yeah, yeah, I was just helping out your sis with her homework,” Riley replied back.
“You were chewing on the pancakes she cooked and there was no book within sight.”
“Is it my fault your sis made pancakes the exact time I was hungry?” Riley said humourlessly.
Tristan just stared at him with the same look. “Okay, okay, 10 o’clock. I won’t come any early.”
I just smiled to that and got up to deposit the tray on top of the bin and check out the school hall. Jesse followed me alongside Lucas and Gabby.
The hall was big and peaceful. Jesse quickly ran across the stage and then did a turnabout. Admiring the hall Lucas slowly walked behind Jesse while gazing at the backdrop. Jesse released a short but loud shout of excitement. You could sense the thrill of being on stage, especially awaiting the drama club to start their play for the inter-school competition near October.
I tried to relieve the moment we won the competition last year but was then distracted by the bell ring. We all hastily exit (if can, find another word to replace ‘exit’, don’t like using the same words lots of time in one chapter.) the hall and off to our next class, Literature.
We weren’t really fans of it, so we chose to seat at the back even though there were a few spaces in front. I gazed outside waiting for it to end. I tried to occupy myself by daydreaming or sketching. But I was too awake thanks to my habit of excess caffeine and I sucked at sketching.
Before I scribble meaningless stuff on a blank piece of paper, I had one threw at me. I turned to my right and saw Lucas took a quick glance and faced forward, smiling. I turn back towards the piece of paper and open it up.

Let’s get out of here ASAP. Back door. I called for a distraction in a few minutes.
~Jesse~

I giggled at myself. I wasn’t planning of getting into detention the first day of school. But I couldn’t find myself the urged to stay here listening poems from poets I didn’t even recognise. I passed my book and stationary to a friend of mine seating in front of me. She putted it under her table beside hers.
Before we knew it, a sudden knock came from the door. The teacher answered it and seemed completely preoccupied and oblivious from the fact that Gabby and Jesse had already escaped. Lucas seemed to be waiting for me. I quickly ducked down and crawled towards the back door. I gave him a gentle nudge and he quickly got out of the door before I did. We then made our way towards the hall once again. I turned on the stage lights with a few spotlights. Lucas seated at the third row while Gabby and Jesse walked around the stage.
As Jesse joked around with her drama lines from last year’s play and so did Gabby. I just took a seat beside Lucas and stretched my legs. Lucas kept asking question while I just kept answering without doubts in my mind about what I was saying.
The whole hour was filled with question from personal to embarrassing moment. And he seemed so interested in my life that I was basically writing my own life movie (help here). Lucas live was even more interesting. He had lived in Paris, China and recently New York before moving here.
Although he lost both his parents so young, he had done all this crazy adventures and met all these interesting people. We talked so long we nearly missed the bell. I made my way towards my locker and get a few stuffs for the last subject of the day, History.
Quickly rushing into class, I didn’t bother to apologise for the lateness or even see who it was. Apparently it was one of the new teachers, whom I presume didn’t notice me seeing how he didn’t say anything about it. He was explaining something I couldn’t catch while his back facing us. I then notice him again. Lucas, seating at the back of the class, in the same white t-shirt, listening to the same ipod I presumed and he was gazing at the window.
“Psst.. Lucas, Lucas…”
No answer. He didn’t even notice me once again. I tried throwing paper ball near the table, but apparently it never caught his attention. Okay, does Lucas have some kind of multiple personalities or something? How could he be the nice funny man I spoke less than an hour ago and this totally oblivious, close minded, stranger I don’t recognise? Before I continue making a few more judgment about him, he got off his chair and went to the teacher and straight out the door.
I couldn’t bother myself about this matter any longer. Confronting him would be the dumbest idea. So I guess I’ll just follow through with whatever he’s up to and ask later. I turned towards the back door not far from me and was a bit confused. It was Lucas passing through. He wore the hoody. But didn’t he go through the other way from where this other person came from? (sounds weird here so pls help)
School bell rang and I made my way to my locker. While I was packing a few books into my bag, I saw him once again. This time he was in his white t-shirt walking into the classroom. Didn’t feel like I should talk to him yet. So I just shut my locker and off the canteen to meet up with everyone.
On my way there, I could’ve a sworn I saw Lucas entering the hall. The corridor was full of people I wasn’t sure but I managed to catch a glimpse of him. I just made my way into the hall to look for him. But he wasn’t there when I entered.
It got even stranger as soon as I got out of the hall. There he was, in his white shirt walking to the canteen. Okay, something it so wrong with me. Either my mind is seeing double or that caffeine habit finally took its turn for the worst for me.
I just walked to the canteen without thinking about anything. I wasn’t having a headache, but I’m still confused about what happen the whole day. I followed Tristan as he entered the canteen as I did. He managed to meet up with the group before we left.
We then made our way to the car park. I just kept quiet the whole time and kept a steady and composure expression. Out of nowhere came Lucas right beside me.
“You guys want to follow me there? Seems like you all can’t fit in one car,” he offered.
Jesse agreed to that and I followed her with it. James too followed us. Just as Jesse left me to talked to James, I managed to get a few moments with Lucas to check out what was going on.
“Hey Luke, where were you after we left the hall?”
“I kind of rush to class. Didn’t want to be anymore late since chem.” he said with a small giggle.
“Did you have Biology and History today?”
“Nope, why you asked?”
Was he lying to my face just like that? I saw him in both classes. The exact face, the hair, the only difference were the clothes.
“I saw you in the bio lab and in my class during history.”
“Huh??”
“You were in your white shirt listening to an ipod and practically stoned during the entire class.”
He giggled a bit louder than before. “What’s so funny? That was you right? In those classes?”
By the time I finish my questions, he stopped. Was he thinking of an excuse or something? He just kept looking forward facing a white porche. Either he was admiring it or that was his ride.
“I think the person you meant was him,” he said as he stared at the guy walking towards the proche.
“My twin, Jaden.”
Twins. Why didn’t I think of that? He wore the exact white shirt and his hair had blue dye. He seemed to be riding a black bike parked beside the car.
“I’m going out for awhile, tell Dom I might be coming back late,”
Jaden didn’t say anything back. He just nodded gently and wore his helmet. He left just like that without even asking where Luke was going.
“You never told me you had a twin,”
“Because you never asked,”
That was embarrassing. His first day at school and I (something I can’t remembered). I blushed for a moment as he just kept smiling as how he always did. Wow, that was so unexpected.
“You alright there?” he asked quietly avoiding everyone else from knowing what happen. I nodded. Before I could say anything, James complemented the car and all Jesse could say was “Woo… Nice ride.” She wasn’t as admiring the car as most guys would, but she did check it out and made a lap around it (something hear doesn’t sound right). Luke opened the front passenger door for me and shut it gently. I still felt a bit of awkwardness, more or less, I try to forget all about it and just start over.

Thousand Angels

I pushed myself up the water with full thrust. Some of my hair fell back into the water with several strands of them caught in my mouth. The current got stronger as the waves grew bigger. My legs felt as heavy as lead as the current pulled me down into the darkness of the sea. The waves made it even harder for me to swim freely as it kept slamming me back into the water. The salty water lunged into my lungs as it dragged me lower into the sea. I gave up fighting the waves, seeing it was close to impossible to do so without being hit back tenfold.

. I closed my eyes and let myself sink deep down into the dark cold water. A rush of calmness went through my body. After the raging waves from above the water, it felt so serene to stay there and just relax. My lungs burnt in pain for air. I broke above the surface and took hungry gulps of air. Just to get huge mouthful of salty water. I quickly duck under the raging waves again.
I then slowly swam to shore. The water was so dark that I couldn't see where I was swimming. I was still scared to resurface until I knew that I had passed the raging sea. After a hundred yards or so I think, I raised my head to up my neck to check the condition of the sea, to ensure that I'm heading the right way back to shore. The view of humans playing around the water caught my sight. The jet-skies' motors roared loudly. A part of me felt relieved and I continued my journey to shore, backstroking. I felt even heavier on land than I was in the water. Sigh~.My body shivered and my fingers were swelled. My eyes were caught by the sun which was starting to set.

It was one of the reasons I had chose to spend my last day of summer vacation at the beach. I couldn't imagine any better way than being right here, right now. As I gawked at the sun, I couldn’t help notice a voice calling out to me. My sight was converted to the sidewalk a few yards away from where I was standing. A black motorcycle with a yellow lining across it stood right there. It had thicker yellow lines towards the back. The motorcycle itself was a fine piece of art. I looked at the cyclist standing near the motorcycle with his hands folded in front of him. He was bare on the top. Showing off his fine golden tan and his well toned body. I couldn’t help but look a little while longer. (need a bit more to add). The guy seating on that beautiful piece of machinery was even more beautiful. He wore nothing but a three quarter slack.

“So how was it?” I asked with a huge grin on my face, already knowing what the answer would be.

“Hmmm… I’ll give you a 9 on the dive,” he pretended to hesitate before pulling me closer to him and gently pressing his lips onto mine. Drake has always been the guy that made me felt so intense and comfortable in the same time. I got on the bike and hugged him tightly. I could feel every inch of his spine through my soaking shirt. (add something).I laid my head on the back of his body. His body was a little bit rough, but warm with my ears gently pressed onto his back, I could hear the gently beating heart. I closed my eyes and enjoyed the wind beating on my face.

After a few minutes had passed by, I opened my eyes only to find myself in a forest. I could hear the crickets singing and the water lapping in low sounds by the shore. I then ponder the strange light beaming through the gap between the trees. It was neither bright nor was it dim. It shone beautifully onto the ground with its light shining as though it was a hope for the lost souls. (should I cut this part? Sounds kind of cheesy). I could smell the smoke coming from where we were heading. It wasn’t strong, but it did catch my nose. There were then voices of coughing and a few swearing. We arrived then at the scene only to get a cloud of smoke blown right toward us. I covered my mouth as he held my hand and lead me through the smoke.

“Sammy! Took you long enough to get back here;” (sounds kind of wrong. Why not rephrase it into something like…) a girl with browned coloured hair bunched up into a pony tail behind got up. As she walked towards me, the light from the fire shone on her tan skin reflecting a healthy glow.

“Tristan was just about to call the coroner and the coast guard,” she continued as she pointed at the guy standing in the back of the crowd yet noticeable by his tall figure. He wore a sunglass and had short and spiky black hair.

“Sorry Steph, wanted to lay back for awhile, and thanks Trist for being so overly excited on burying my body for me. I’m sure I’ll be able to do the same thing for you anytime soon,” I smirked towards him. He returned her smile insincerely. He turned back to the barbeque grill as he picked up a piece of burnt meat and scrunched his nose up in disgust. With a flick of his wrist, he threw the burnt meat off the edge of the cliff.
“What happened here? We could smell the smoke from a thousand miles away,” I asked, as I look curiously at the end where he threw the meat.

“Cave-boy here discovered how to make fire using gasoline,” said the girl with a bob hair cut but not quite short enough to be a page boy’s style while pointing her thumb at the guy beside her. He was taller than her but an inch or two shorter than me. He had (help me give me another description for him, anything that seem interesting yet not scary but look kind of cool) The fire of the grill cast an eerie glow onto his face, enhancing his deep and threatening features. He had a cool smile on his face( this can still be considered)

“Well, this wouldn’t happen if someone here forgot to bring oil and more charcoal before we came here,” he fought back while rolling his eyes towards her and folded his hand.

“Whatever!” she shouted in annoyance and turned her back against us, walking toward another girl. Her shorts emphasized her long legs. She had the looks of the model. She had a fair skin with long brunette hair and green jaded eyes. They both whispered something and then left into the forest. I turned my back towards the site looking at the flaming-red sky coming from the horizon. The intense red and orange hues of the sky surrounded by small but many portion of clouds colored with darkish-red made it a breathtaking scenery. The sun was already half way setting. A pair of hands caught me at my lower body and hugged me closer to the host of the hands. I then felt kiss after kiss trailing down my neck.
“This is what you wanted to see, isn’t it? It looks just as beautiful as you do,” said Drake in a low whisper. I ignored it as I gazed beyond the horizon. By the tone of his voice, I could pick up whether he was lying to me or just being honest. It wasn’t comfortable listening to him saying words like that, knowing that his mind was probably pondering on something else.“Anyone wants to call Steph and Jenny from the pool?” Tristan asked as he threw a big black bag into his jeep.Stephanie and Jenny returned from a small pool not far from the camp site. Jesse wore her bandana and put on a pair of sandals and threw the soaking wet tee directly towards Tristan. It slapped Tristan hard on the face even though he tried shielding himself with both his hands.“What was that for?” He asked as he held the shirt an arm’s length away from him as if in disgust.“Your turn to do laundry, and make sure that smoke smell is gone,” she said as she scrunched up her nose in disgust just to emphasize her point. The site was already cleaned out and with everything piled into the jeep and the 4-wheel drive. We exited the venue as soon as it was dusk. I stretched my legs across the back seat with my head resting on the window. I stretched my legs out onto Steph’s lap as she slowly applied pressure with both her thumb on the sole of my feet and slowly pushing it upwards. It was comforting. I then closed my eyes and calmly reposition my body to avoid hurting my back if I were to sleep. After a few attempts, I lay my head beside the door handle and settled down into peace and serenity.“Sammy…. Sammy, wake up Sammy…” I heard someone calling out to me.I felt a gentle nudge over on my left arm I got up with my eyes still shut tight. I slowly opened my eyes and let them adjust to the surrounding.“We’re home. Well, not exactly home…. But we’re back in good old San Francisco;” Stephanie’s voice was becoming clearer to me as my senses came flooding back to me.I looked around to see what she meant only to find myself in front of a 24 hour mini-market somewhere outside of town I didn’t know about. I stretched myself a bit while trying to catch a glimpse of the location. It was a mini-market by itself, with no stalls or shops around it. Behind it was dark, but I could make out a small forest, a park maybe. But what helped me the most was the sign-board located not far from the store, just close enough for my eyes to make it out. GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE 10 Mi. So we must’ve been in somewhere between the Golden Gate National Recreation Area a town called Sausalito. I then turned my head towards the direction of the other car behind the car I was in .It was as empty as the other cars.“Where’s everyone else?” I asked with a surprised look on my face.“They’re in there, eating I presume. Seeing how Riley stomach didn’t stop grumbling for the entire time.” Steph answered me casually as she laid her head back onto the seat.“How long was I asleep for?” I started to feel a little self conscious.“Let’s just say you didn’t have to put up with Riley’s stupid jokes and stomach,” Stephanie said as she frowned. We looked at each other for a second then burst into giggles. I understand what she meant. Riley’s jokes were always insulting in one way but hilarious in the other. Steph had always been a victim of his since primary school. She’d always been patient with him for as long as I remembered.A loud sound broke my thoughts; I glanced to the direction of the sound. We couldn’t catch his face but the bike already caught me eyes. It was a black super-bike with red spots covering it here and there. The spots didn’t look like it had been drawn on, more like splattered on with an artistic touch, I couldn’t help but think as I saw the redness of the colour reflected by the street light. The nozzle was big and coloured red. The person riding it was wearing a grey and white stripe hoody with slim fit jeans. It was torn at several places. Though it wasn’t big but it didn’t seem intentionally. Before I managed to catch a glimpse of his face, he was already half way towards the restroom beside the store.I then followed Stephanie out of the car, straight for the store. She then pressed a button on her car key that she wore around her neck to lock the car. As we entered the store, Stephanie quickly made her way through the drinks section. I saw where she was heading, a mini hot-dog stand surrounded by a few tables. The hot-dog machine was on but no one was near the counter. Seating at on the left of the counter were the guys munching on their hot dogs. Riley’s mouth was covered with smutches of mustard. Drake and Tristan were good with their poker face. Not exposing their laughter at Riley, watching him handle his foods like a barbarian. Jenny on the other hand, I believed was covering her face with a magazine.
Stephanie quickly reached into her Prada and brought out her camera. Her face was control, she was one that doesn’t find stupid jokes, funny.

“Smile cave boy, your on candid camera,” and quickly took two snap shots of Riley.
Riley seemed kind of confused. I didn’t smile, but just looked at Stephanie with a certain blur look.
“Hey,” Steph called him. She then, using her index finger, gently rubbing below her lips, indicating Riley to copy her. He did, and caught a tad of mustard over his finger. He got up, looking for something, a mirror I’m guessing.Riley headed to the rear-view mirror located above the counter and then turned back to stare at Steph. He knew Steph won’t give the camera to him even if he begged for it. I saw Stephanie smirking at him with her body half-way turn towards the entrance. Finally her chance of getting back. Yet she looked so uncaring about it and just turn back, heading towards the cookies aisle.
(add something on with riley)
Riley leaned back on his heels, sliding one hand into his pocket and took out his wallet. He took out twenty dollar and handed it to Tristan like how drug dealers handed drugs, smoothly and unseen.
“Double it and I’ll delete it myself,” Tristan said, as if he knew what Riley wanted him to do. Riley just took out another twenty and gave it to him, before leaving the table to the toilet. His half-finish hotdog just stood there on his plate, with excess mustard covering the top.
I noticed someone walking in. He wore the exact same jeans as the guy with the black bike, only this time, his face wasn’t covered by his hoody. His face was fairer than most people I’ve seen but not pale. He had jet black hair with a touch of blue dye on top of his hair. The thing that actually caught my eyes was his eyes, they sparkled under the soft light coming from the lights above. He didn’t seem to notice my stare. His eyes were more concentrated on the rack of tin drinks. I walked slowly towards him, avoiding meeting his gaze.
I tried to seem busy as I played around with a few cans on the rack. Suddenly, without a warning, I slipped on an unknown substance on the floor. I was expecting an embarrassing crashed onto the floor but that didn’t happened. I felt to a pair of hands supporting my body. His face was clear from down here. He was stared into my eyes. I couldn’t read his eyes as they seemed distant and far from this point. As I clumsily stood up again, his hand were by his side again. He reached out towards me as I felt my cheeks flushed. He took the can of drink from my hand. It was a can of ‘Rockstar’.
“Thank you,” he whispered softly. Before I managed to regain my coolness, he was already halfway towards the cashier. He didn’t glance back or he would have caught me staring at him. I turned back and walked back to the table. Seems that no one noticed the stunt I had pulled awhile ago. They seemed to be discussing about something in a low voice till I couldn’t make out what they were trying to say. I just reached for a seat and sat quietly beside Jenny.“Still tired?” Jenny whispered, as she turned to look at me. She put down the magazine she was reading and grab her drink, sipping it, making those sound you get to you keep on sipping the straw even though the drink was already finish.
“More or less,” I said as I laid my chin on the table.
“Yeah guys, me too…” Tristan continued, “Let’s call it a day.”
I nodded in agreement. I got off the chair and headed for the entrance. Drake pulled my hand softly, bringing me closer to him. I just lied down on his shoulder, trying to keep my eyes open as long as I could. I stopped by the rack filled with potato chips. I grabbed a pack and quickly walked towards the cashier. Drake quickly left the store and light a cigarette.
Stephanie was outside on her phone, giggling and nodded her head several times. Riley then walked behind Drake, yawning and stretching his hand. His face was clean and mustard-free.
