chapter 20+

There were many cars filling the entire parking space near the house. The limo driver off the black limousine nodded to me with a smile as I walk through the gate. There weren’t any sound coming from the house. It was so quiet, so serene. Just the chirping of birds can be heard. Moving silhouettes could be seen through the translucent curtains.
There seem to be a gathering of some sort in there. There was tens, maybe close to twenties people in there. But they weren’t moving. Just standing still.
I knocked the door twice, hoping not to interrupt anything that’s going on inside there. A few quiet moments pass by before someone answered the door. It was Jaden open it in shock to see me.
Behind him was another girl, taller than me, in dark leather jacket staring at me. Her eyes were staring deadly on me. Like she was about to strike at me if Jaden wasn’t in the way.
Then there were more faces coming to see me. They were horrified seeing me. Shocked. Astonished. Stunned. I was even more scared seeing them looking at me as so. Jaden turn to his back before shutting the door.
“Who were those people?” I asked, still scared of them.
“People who annoys me. They’re here about Frankie.” He walked towards the garage. Another limo driver nodded at us with a smile before continuing back to his paper.
“But she’s not one of us. She mustn’t know our secret.” A loud shout came from the house. It was like an old man with an English accent.
“She’s no harm to us. She already helped me and Jaden against Frankie.” I heard Lucas protesting back.
“She knows about us then? Then she shouldn’t be allowed to live after seeing our faces. Our lives and reputation are on the line.” Another voice with an English accent fought back.
“You’re the idiots who showed your face to her. Anyhow, she won’t squeal on you all and I can guarantee it.”
“Your word can’t guarantee anything. She holds no tie nor favours to us. She doesn’t have any reason to keep this secret.”
“She also holds no grudge against any of us. She finds our kind to be amazing. I’ll take responsibility of any of her action regarding us.”
“Why are you so fond of her? Willing to hold responsible for her actions without doubt nor fear?”
There was a sudden silence for a moment before Jaden turn on his bike. It roared loud, vacuuming any further noise coming from the house. He then took it out of the garage before turning to me. Tossing a helmet towards me, he wore his as he rolled his eyes in annoyance from the voices from the house.
“Come on, follow me. They’ll be here all night long thanks to you. They scented you the moment you pass the gates.”
I nodded and got on behind him. I started to remember back these feelings. Hugging Jaden closely with my head on his back. He then rode all the way hastily. It was just like with Drake. Being scared on the bike, but feel protected with him around. Like I trust him not to fall or crash.
Jaden was just warm as Lucas. His back was radiating heat into my body. It was like he was scorching himself from the cold breeze.
He speeded down the nearly-empty road, hitting every red light, avoiding any cars in his way swiftly. It was all a blur, what street we passed, what shops were open.
A few familiar faces were in sight for a tenth-of a second but I couldn’t get a second glance to be sure. The cool breeze blew into my eyes.
The bike slowed down before stopping in front of an empty building, it had no sign of being used for decades. The doors seem locked. And there wasn’t any light coming from inside.
The building seemed uninhabited.

The entire floor was dark and empty.

(add)

The door had a sign, ‘Ian Mckenroe. Private Investigator.’
A P.I.? Why are we looking for a P.I? Jaden kept sniffing since we came on this floor, his nose was on something.

(add)

“Jaden, why are we looking for a P.I.?” I confronted him before he continued sniffing the room. His eyes were on me, but he didn’t seem bothered, he turn away from me before answering back.
“Ian isn’t just a P.I. He’s a family friend. Someone they all can rely on.” They, he meant the others that were at his house.

The havoc here really didn’t leave any trails behind. No blood, no broken items, just scattered pieces of papers, along with some kind of liquid spilled on the floor behind the desk. It wasn’t thick like blood, but it was blue dark-ish.

“Why did you take me here?”
“I didn’t need to be a mind reader to know what Lucas wanted me to do.”
“Lucas?”
“He knew there would be a lot of tension if you waited for him, let alone him leaving the rendezvous for you. So I just thought of bringing you along.”

We left the office…

Like before, the floor was totally empty, there wasn’t any furniture. What was Jaden looking for?
He kept touching the walls of the empty. Scenting on something that’s apparently unscented to the naked nose, or did that just sounded wrong. He kept disappearing into the dark part of the room most of the time.
(add)

“Jaden, come on, let’s get out of here, there’s no one here, we’re all alone.”
He turned to me, raised his eyebrows, “What makes you think we’re all alone?”

I thought of that more of a sarcasm. I gave him a certain ha-ha-whatever look before I sensed something behind me. I didn’t know what it was. But my instinct said it’s not something pretty.
I slowly turned. The sheer intensity of vibes coming from whatever was behind me stunned me to my very core. It was pitch black. Everything, except a pair of bloodshot red eyes, gawking at me.
Somehow I knew this is how a prey feels within the grasp of a predator. Unable to move even given a default. Its eyes showed how much its desire to rip me apart. It’s drooling showed how much its desire to taste my flesh. And everything seems to be lines from the little red riding hood.
The wide open eyes started getting closer. I yet, still am not moving. My legs are like nailed to the ground. Seems fear has even shocked my limbs. And this time, I’m not a bit attracted to it. It’s more like I’m stuck.
A nose came out of the darkness along with the long, sharp teeth. I then managed to slowly back out of the hall, back into the only room with windows. I wanted to shout out for Jaden, but only to fear that that thing would kill me before I could get a word out of my mouth.
Slowly, the torso release itself from the dark side. But it almost seem like he was cut in half, because the bottom part of the body couldn’t be seen. Yet he was moving forward even faster.

Jaden ramp him back into dark abyss below. Its cry tears my ears. The loud growl ended with a loud thump. I couldn’t make out what was going on down there. The loud noises suddenly came to a silence. There weren’t even any movement. The pitch black concealed their fight.
Jaden was then thrown through the hole up to the floor above me. The other werewolf then jumped towards him. Not giving Jaden a moment to breath. Before I could make out what was going on, they burst through the floor above me.
I couldn’t grasp their agility, their flexibility, their every motion, not just because of the dark background around the floor,

I tried avoiding meeting their path, somehow my interference would only end in my death, huh, how pathetic does that look? I had to do something to certain Jaden’s victory. Jaden feel heavily on the flight of stairs, bursting it into pieces.
Before I knew it, those bloody eyes were back on me. I tried leaning up against the wall. Trying to blend with the shadow of the room, but it didn’t do any good. Those cold eyes kept staring at me. The sheer anxiety crept onto me. I tried holding my nervousness to myself but it almost seemed impossible.
I slowly move to my left reaching for something I could use as a weapon of some sort. I reached to the furthest my hand was made possible. There was something cold. It had a flat surface. I tried bending lower to try to get a better picture of what it was.
It was a stool. Close to my leg height, but it was the only thing I have as a defence. I ran towards the window, grabbing the stool on my way, and hinged towards the werewolf’s direction.

I ran through the dark, unaware of where I was heading, before I saw a glimpse of light coming from the corner to my left. I could feel the wolf being within metres from me. Jaden was in front of me, flying through the air towards me. I barely ducked below and allow him to ramp into the other wolf.
I tried through the other door, but just as exited the room, the werewolf was already behind me. This time I will make me legs move. I ran through the hall, entering random rooms without a moment to look behind. He kept constantly banging in the wall whenever he tried to turn.
He was at high velocity, bashing through walls and ceiling, chasing me endlessly. Those superhuman strength and speed were seriously for real.
There was another stool within my reach that I grabbed before getting clawed on the back. I nearly cried in pain but my arms were already swinging the stool towards him, bashing into his head. The stool bended unevenly but the werewolf was upside down near the window.
My back was bleeding, soaking a portion of my back with blood. Surprisingly, I was still able to move normally. I thought u hit from a werewolf could really damage you.

(add)

I noticed there was something moving near the walls. (Jaden)

Those blue eyes blinked at me. “Jaden, Jaden, what are you doing?” I whispered as asoftly as I could. He wasn’t answering. He just slowly back into the shadow. Even his eyes were lost. I’m pretty sure that was him. I mean, there are only two werewolves in this building, and the other one has red eyes.
(add)

I felt like a sitting duck, standing alone in the light. I didn’t dare enter the dark part of the room again.
Out of the furthest room on the floor, the tall, dark and enraged werewolf came out. He saw me standing here, helpless. Well maybe not helpless, I was expecting Jaden to come out right now and burst him through another wall.
But he wasn’t doing so. He didn’t do anything, he was still invisible in the shadows. The werewolf began his run. He seemed like an unstoppable train, unable to change course from the track. My heart beat to its max.
“JADEN!!!!” I shouted out loud as it enters the room I was in. He got to me within inches before Jaden reveals himself from the darkness and burst him through the wall. The loud crush screamed into my ears along with a few splinters. The hole was twice the size of me.
I couldn’t make out from the clash,
